Cycling zone (Kortrijk town centre and suburbs)
In the bicycle zone, cars are welcome but they are not allowed to overtake cyclists and they drive at a maximum speed of 30 km per hour. Cyclists are allowed to use the whole width of the road (in a one-way street) or the whole lane (in a two-way street). You can recognise the bicycle zone by the red markings and bicycle logos on the street. Signs are placed where you enter the bicycle zone.
Pedestrian zone shopping centre Kortrijk
In the pedestrian area, the rules remain as they were: only pedestrians have access to the area and can use the full width of the road. The following exceptions are allowed in the pedestrian zone: cyclists, vehicles with a transit pass, for loading and unloading within the loading and unloading times and taxis. Cyclists and other vehicles travel at walking pace and give way to pedestrians. Playing is allowed, parking is prohibited.
A maximum speed of 20 km per hour applies in the residential area. Pedestrians are allowed to use the whole width of the roadway, also for playing. Vehicles and bicycles must be properly adjusted and parking is only allowed in designated parking areas.
PARK YOUR BIKE SAFELY
Part of the bicycle parking P Budabrug is free and publicly accessible between 6 am and 2 am. The number of free places is shown on the entrance sign of the bicycle parking and on the mobile website m.parko.be. In addition to bicycle parking, there is also continuous camera surveillance, so that your bicycle is kept safe.
The bicycle parking P K in Kortrijk is situated underground. Via the bicycle lift in the Sint-Jansstraat, you can easily take your bicycle to level -2 or -3. On both levels, there is direct access to the shopping centre. The bicycle lift allows you to return to Sint-Jansstraat as a pedestrian. The bicycle parking space is free and open to the public 24 hours a day. In total, the car park has room for 455 bicycles.
