On the water

Glide past the tip of the Buda Island to Buda Beach; the old arm of the River Leie is the ideal spot to discover by SUP. After 6.00 p.m. on Saturday evenings and before 10.00 a.m. on Sunday mornings, you have the place to yourself and even get to SUP on the River Leie itself.
Stand-up paddleboarding is quite accessible; no prior experience is required. The skilled instructor will guide you throughout your trip and will introduce you to this water sport in the heart of Kortrijk in a safe and fun way. 
 

Practical information 

Participants: up to 20 people per organised session guaranteed. Groups of 10 or more on other dates on request.
Starting point: Handelskaai
Departure: every Sunday at 10.30 a.m. between 12 June and 11 September (except during wet weather) 
Duration: 2 to 2.5 hours
Price: €27.50 per person
Included: equipment rental (SUP, paddle, leash, life jacket, wetsuit if necessary) and guidance by an experienced instructor
To be provided by yourself: clothing that is allowed to get wet

‘Tanking' is an incredible floating sensation that has been popular in Nebraska and beyond for years. It is all about floating down rivers with your family or friends in a livestock water tank or just coasting along. Now for the first time also in Europe, in Kortrijk no less.
Paddle from the Reepkaai via the lowered Leie banks under the bridge between the Broel Towers to the Damkaai and back. Enjoy a snack and a drink or just enjoy the experience of tanking itself.
